Our Hiring Process
Step 1: Finding Your Fit

Step 2: Searching Jobs and Submitting Interest
Start by searching for jobs that match your skills, qualifications, and interests. You can search our open positions on the ASTCI website (link to open positions listing), or using the indeed.com search for Alpine Special Treatment Center (Link).
Once you find a position(s) you are interested in, review the qualifications in detail and make sure you meet all required qualifications.
Follow the instructions for submitting your resume and/or application.
Step 3: Pre-Hire Assessment
For some positions, ASTCI may conduct online pre-hire assessments to evaluate a combination of aptitude, behavioral competencies, skills (e.g., typing, data entry), and knowledge of candidates. We will contact you if a pre-hire assessment is required for the job you expressed interest in.
Depending on the position, our assessments may include a combination of aptitude, behavioral competencies, skills (e.g., typing, data entry), and job knowledge. Most of our assessments are unproctored and should be completed at the earliest convenience by our candidates on a desktop or laptop.
Here are some helpful tips to prepare:
Set aside adequate time to take the assessment.
Read instructions carefully.
Do not attempt to complete the assessment if you are not ready — starting the assessment is often counted as an attempt and you will be subjected to a waiting period before you can try again.

Please note that you will need to request an accommodation before taking the assessment. If you take the assessment without requesting an accommodation up front, it will be counted as a test attempt and you will need to observe the required waiting period.
Step 4: Candidate Review and Interview
If your skills and experience appear to align with those of the position, a Human Resources representative may contact you for additional screening. This may lead to further interview(s) conducted by phone and/or in-person. Due to the number of submissions we receive, we cannot contact each person who submits a resume for consideration.

Step 5: Candidate Selection
Once you’ve been selected for a position, a Human Resources representative will call you and make a verbal offer. This conversation will be followed by a written offer letter. Once you’ve accepted the offer letter and passed applicable pre-employment screenings and verifications — including drug and background checks — your start date will be confirmed and you’ll be part of ASTCI.

Will the personal information that I provide on the ASTCI website be shared with any third parties?
Your information will never be shared with a third-party vendor without your authorization.
That said, candidates who receive a conditional offer of employment are required to complete pre-employment contingencies, which include a third-party vendor's analysis. In these instances, your information is shared only for the purpose of completing the contingencies (background check, drug screening, employee health screening, verification of eligibility to work in the U.S. using E-Verify, etc.), and the vendors are required to keep your information secure and confidential.
How long does the hiring process take?
It varies with each job opportunity, but the process can typically take up to two weeks before any interview decisions are made. Human Resources will call you if you are selected for an interview.
Can I submit my resume instead of filling out the job application?
We strongly prefer that you submit your application via the Job Board.
If I submit an application, will I be guaranteed an interview?
No. Due to the volume of applications received, only those candidates who appear to be a close fit with the position requirements will be selected for an interview.
Does ASTCI have a formal Employee Referral Program (ERP)? If so, how do I learn more about it?

Why does ASTCI collect Social Security numbers (SSNs)?
ASTCI uses SSNs to establish a job seeker's identity. The SSN is used to determine whether or not a job seeker has previously worked for ASTCI, to complete the candidate's post-offer background check, and with the E-Verify program to establish a new employee's eligibility to work in the United States.
E-Verify is an Internet-based system that compares information entered by an employer from an employee’s Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, to records available to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration to confirm employment eligibility.
Why does ASTCI request job seekers' criminal conviction history information?
At ASTCI, we're committed to providing a safe environment and protecting the confidential information of our clients, members, staff, and job seekers. Criminal conviction information is requested and reviewed, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Are benefits available for ASTCI employees?
Yes, a comprehensive benefits package is offered to ASTCI employees. Benefits depend on job position and job status.
Can I still apply as a licensed nurse if I do not have my license in California?
If you are an experienced licensed nurse, you do not need your California license to apply. You will need your license to begin working. If you are a new graduate, you will need your California license to begin work, but not to apply.
Do I need to answer every question on the application?
Yes, you need to answer every question listed on the application. Your application is only
considered complete when all questions have been answered.
